How to escape from the Oxwall White Screen of Death caused by Plugins

Did you just installed an Oxwall plugin that turned your website to a complete white screen? No need to panic; here is a quick step to get you back to life!

The simplest method to fix this problem would have been to uninstall the plugin causing the black screen but what if your website (including admin area) is not accessible? There is a solution!

  • Goto to your PhpMyAdmin (MySQL database)
  • Find and click on ow_base_plugin
The resulting page contains list of plugins installed on your website. Kindly find the plugin causing the problem and delete it. Example, if the friends plugin is causing the white screen, scroll down to where you have friends and delete the entire row (See image below).
After the deleting plugin from the database, the plugin can still be found on your list of available plugin in your admin dashboard. You can choose to delete it completely or leave it alone. Which ever way, you are free from the white screen of death!

Senior executive editor at EwtNet
A web developer, IT undergrad, terrible entrepreneur, internet freak and a man of a few other incongruous talents, Ebenezer has been writing on technology since 2012, and plans to do so until a few days before his ultimate fate: cryogenic preservation. If resurrected, he is likely to go back to writing on technology.
